How Solar Works
1. The photovoltaic module (PV) collects the sun's energy and creates electricity in the form of direct current (DC).
2. The inverter converts the DC to alternating current (AC) to be compatible with the utility.
3. The solar power is then routed through the main breaker and out the meter. This will reduce the power you draw from the grid.
4. Utility bills are reduced because the solar electricity reduces the amount of electricity pulled from the grid.
5. During the day, the solar PV array works to reduce the draw from the utility. Any extra electricity not used is sent back to the grid. When you need more electricity then you are able to pull it from the grid.
